I DO, OR I DON’T?

For those of you who have been planning to tie the knot with a lavish ceremony, you may want to think twice…
The Department of Tourism has just issued its updated Regulations in terms of the Disaster Management Act, 57 of 2002, especially in so far as wedding ceremonies are concerned.
Whilst you are more than welcome to tie the knot at Home Affairs, any ceremony needs to comply with the updated Regulations.
Attendance at any wedding ceremony is limited to 50 persons – yes, bride and groom included, and the standard social distancing and necessary protocols must be strictly adhered to.
Bride, groom, bridesmaids and fellow guests, be sure to wear your mask and adhere to all screening protocols. When the cake is cut, be sure to cover your face with your mask and to only remove your mask for eating and drinking.
Oh, and be sure, when there is a photo booth, that appropriate social distancing is exercised when taking a photo of those long-lasting memories!
While the Regulations might put a damper on your wedding planning, we at BLC Attorneys are fully operational and here to support you with all the prenuptial arrangements. Let us assist you with the registration of your marriage contract and the drafting of your Last Will and Testament.
Happy wedding season!
